    Most Affected Coronavirus Countries

“The World will Never be the Same!” – how many times have you heard this phrase in the past couple of months? Indeed, COVID-19 has changed our private lives and the global economy forever. At the same time, some countries have passed the Lockdown period already. They started the process of rebuilding their economy. Others appeared to be unprepared for the Pandemic. Therefore the process of coming back to normal life will be more complicated there and might take a long time. Let`s see which countries were mostly affected by Coronavirus and what they have learned from this experience.

These are the most Affected Coronavirus Countries

    Most Affected Coronavirus Countries

Italy: most affected by the coronavirus

Italy became a massive landmark on the Pandemic map. The healthcare system of the country appeared to be unprepared for such a large flow of infected people. Probably, one of the main reasons for this was the demographic peculiarity of the country. Italy is called “the Nursing Home” of Europe. The average age of Italian residents is 50 years old (for comparison, the average American is 35). As we already know, older people are most at risk of dying from complications caused by COVID-19. Also, the mentality of Italians became one more reason why the disease has spread so rapidly. People in this country are very social. They love going out and having massive celebrations. The families are also bid. Therefore it is quite common for Italy that several generations of the same family live under one roof.

Those reasons became the primary factors why Disease has spread like a forest fire. The healthcare system of the country collapsed under a massive flow of patients.

Right now, Italy started the process of returning to normal life. Nevertheless, people continue to observe all the precautions. Italian economy bases mostly on tourism and import. Although the country seems to have learned the lesson, the second wave of the Disease might be fatal for it.

USA: the US has large number of people affected by the coronavirus

Since the Caribbean Crisis and 9/11, the United States became “the country of Preppers.” But this time, the enemy is nothing like the country has expected. The American healthcare system was generally ready for working in extreme conditions. Hospitals had everything necessary to accept lots of patients in case of an emergency. The problem was that nobody could have foreseen the epidemic scenario. People did not get all the necessary information about the necessity of precautious measures on time. Mass Media has marked down the danger. At the same time, Americans are passionate travelers. All these reasons have caused a dramatic outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.

Right now, the healthcare system seems to be getting on track. Nevertheless, the country`s economics mostly based on the private sector. The closure of small businesses caused by Lockdown has to lead to a dramatic rise in unemployment. Experts claim that even after COVID-19 backs off, the country will have to deal with tragic economic consequences.

RUSSIA: Russia was suddenly hit by COVID-19

Russia has a common border with China. People who live in the Far East of the country have close economic and social boundaries with the Chinese. This became the first factor that has welcomed COVID-19 at the country.

At the same time, the Russian Mass Media policy has always aimed at secrecy. Russian people did not realize the upcoming danger because of a lack of information. The disease was spreading all over the country for several months. Local bureaucracy aimed at the understatement of statistics has lead to disaster. At the same time, the Medical Reformation, which took place in Russia for the past couple of years, has only weakened the healthcare system. Funding and personnel reduction has made it unprepared for a massive epidemic.

Nowadays, Russia claims to go back to normal life in an attempt to save the local economy. It has suffered from many internal and external factors before. Nevertheless, right now, it seems to face the biggest crisis since the Soviet Union breakdown in the 1990s. At the same time, the numbers of newly infected are only growing. Experts are concerned that this kind of haste and inconsistency may lead to disaster.

COVID-19 has affected the whole world. Some countries have faced it, suffered a lot, and now have to deal with a huge effect that leads to an economic crisis. On the other hand, some have learned a valuable lesson. At the same time, many are rebuilding their policy any economic systems so they would be ready for the possible second wave of the Disease. Anyway, 2020 has provided itself a well-deserved place in the history of Medicine, Economics, and Social Science.
